Collins was arraigned in both General
District and Juvenile/Domestic
Relations courts this afternoon.

VO NAT Collins was appointed an attorney
for charges of aggravated malicious
wounding and possession of a firearm as
a convicted felon.
Police say Wednesday night he got
in an argument with the mother of his
teenage girlfriend.
Investigators say Collins opened
fire, hitting the teen in her stomach.
She was last listed in stable
condition.

Police are no longer planning to
bring more charges against Collins.
Instead they will be going for
direct indictments from a grand jury.

not guilty to charges of first-degree
murder, aggravated rape and armed
assault.
The case stumped police, who had

Worthington shortly before her death.

from as many men in the small town of
Truro as they could.
The killing inspired the
best-selling book "Invisible Eden: A

looking for new transportation this
morning.

VO-NAT Amtrak railroad has canceled service
on its high-speed Acela (Ah-SELL-ah)
Express trains in the Northeast.
Cracks were found on the disc brakes
on most of the cars although there have
been no reports of brake failures or
other safety problems.
An Amtrak spokesman says the trains
will stay off the tracks until the
problem is fixed.
The high-speed trains carry
passengers between Washington, New York
and Boston.
Amtrak is adding four more of the
slower regional trains to help carry
the displaced passengers.

week stuck in a tree is said to be
recovering nicely.

Wednesday afternoon after spending five days
stuck 60 feet up in the air.
When efforts to coax the cat down
with food failed, a tree climber tried
to catch.
That too failed. Finally a man was
able to grab him using a bucket truck.

Today He is staying with one of the
families in the neighborhood.
They report he is healthy and shows
no desire to go outside.
They are still searching for his
owner, but if they don't find one, they
may keep the cat themselves and name
him Zaccheus.

Coach Dave Leitao. Leitao is back in
Chicago with an offer in hand from the
Cavaliers.

Sports contacted the Depaul Sports
Information Office today and they
informed us that the 43 year old Head
coach is scheduled to meet with his
athletic director this afternoon to
discuss the situation and where he
stands. If any announcement were
forthcoming about Leitao accepting the
offer from the Cavaliers it would come
from the University of Virginia. U-V-A
has said no press conference is
scheduled for today.

out a bit as they race in Texas this
weekend.

Speed Qualifying this afternoon on the
mile an half track. Someone who had
problems before he even got to
qualifying was Casey Mears, Mears would
hit the wall during the final practice
session and have to go to a back-up
car.
Ricky Rudd came to Texas with a
little bit of relief he was in the top
35 in points which assured him a spot
in the field unlike last week at
martinsville where he had to qualify
his way in. Rudd celebrated by going
out and posting the fastest time early
on which is where he remains with a few
cars left on the track.
