IBM disappointed Wall Street with its
profit report card...which was
released two days ahead of schedule.
After the closing bell, Big blue
said earnings and sales rose in the
previous quarter but not enough to
meet analyst estimates. IBM says it had
difficulty closing some deals by
the end of the quarter.
and good news if you're in the market
to buy a home. Rates on 30-year
mortgages are down for a second
straight week. Freddie Mac says the
average for 30-year, fixed-rate
mortgages is at five-point-91 percent,
down from five-point-93 percent last
week.

Wednesday night after suffering a heart
attack at a local restaurant.

in the clear by posting a profit of
over 70 million dollars for last
quarter.

Hints of a possible slow down in the
economy, coupled with disappointing
profit sent investors heading for the
exits.
The dow tanked 125 points to its lowest
close since november.
The sp slipped nearly 12
the nasdaq fell back 27 points
Congress has given the green light to a
controversial new bankruptcy
bill.. And president Bush is eager to
sign it into law. The bill makes
it harder for individuals to wipe out
dept by filing for
bankruptcy.Instead, tens of thousands
of Americans will now have to
workout repayment plans. Opponents say
the bill is too hard on average
americans. Its' the biggest overhaul of
the bankruptcy code in 25 years.
IBM disappointed Wall Street with its
profit report card...which was
released two days ahead of schedule.
After the closing bell, Big blue
said earnings and sales rose in the
previous quarter but not enough to
meet analyst estimates. IBM says it had
difficulty closing some deals by
the end of the quarter.
and good news if you're in the market
to buy a home. Rates on 30-year
mortgages are down for a second
straight week. Freddie Mac says the
average for 30-year, fixed-rate
mortgages is at five-point-91 percent,
down from five-point-93 percent last
week.

after a fire tore through a hotel in
Paris early this morning

This Morning Witnesses say some people jumped from
windows to escape the flames.
Firefighters say they were able to
rescue some others.
At least 57 people were injured -
twelve seriously.
The fire took more than an hour to
bring under control.
Some 250 firefighters and 50 fire
engines were on the scene.
Officials say the hotel is in an
area that's popular with tourists.
