Roanoke is where the Petrosky's called
home nearly a year and a half ago.
A quiet neighborhood, that is
shocked to hear the news about their
former neighbor.
This past Friday morning Bristol
police say 38-year-old Andrea Petrosky
attacked her six year old son.
Authorities say she choked him,
put him in the bathtub, and then called
9-1-1 to tell them what she had done.
The six year old boy was revived
by rescue crews, and is currently
listed in critical condition at a
hospital in Johnson City, Tennessee.

According to Andreas' neighbors
in Roanoke, she liked her job as a
buyer for Present Thyme in Towers
Shopping Center.
The Petroskys later left Roanoke
after their oldest daughter went off to
UVA and Andrea's husband Timothy,
accepted a job offer in Bristol.

still trying to explain to her small

family was a nice, and cordial family,
and they were surprised that the Andrea

plan that would allow Victory Stadium
to be used for high school football
games this fall.
City Council member Sherman Lea
says the field and lights are in good
shape.
He says temporary bleachers
should be put up on the track
surrounding the field.
Lea says there are ways that fans
would be able to go to the game, and
avoid walking under the stadium's brick
walls.

traffic for more than an hour last
night.
Norfolk Southern officials say a couple
of coal cars derailed around 7:20.
It happened near the Ramada Inn on
Franklin Road.
The cars stayed upright and were back
on track by 8:45.
The cause is still under investigation.
No one was hurt.

Roanoke County man -- after an animal
control officer found his back yard
littered with poisoned bait and dead
animals.
Police say the man -- whose name has
not been released -- told them he had
been having problems with animals
disturbing some of his pheasants.
The animal control officer found about
13 dead animals, which included skunks,
raccoons, foxes, *opossums* and a hawk.
Hawks are a federally protected
species.
No charges have been filed, but an
investigation is continuing.

Recreation Association have decided to
sell the property.
A spokesperson for the group says
they can't afford to make necessary
repairs to the dam, which is NOT up to
code.
The group has stressed the new
owners must maintain the lake
community.
This week a state engineer and
the community's engineer will meet to
see if there are any *other* options.
The community was originally
cited for problems-- including trees
and grass near the dam, cleaning up
debris and fixing an emergency spillway
