say they're shocked to hear that a
Bristol woman is under arrest for
allegedly trying to kill her youngest
child.

38 year-old Andrea *Petrosky*
called 9-1-1 after allegedly choking
her six year-old son -- and then
putting him in the bathtub.

*Petrosky* used to live in South
Roanoke, on Stanely Avenue.

Former neighbors refused to go on
camera -- but did say the family was
nice, and somewhat sociable.

A friend says the family moved to
Bristol after the husband accepted a
job there-- and the oldest daughter
went off to U-V-A.

Petrosky is being held without
bond.

She faces charges of attempted
capital murder and felony child abuse.

ask the City Manager's office today to
come up with a plan allowing fooball
games there this fall.

City Council member Sherman Lea
says the field and lights are in good
shape.

He says temporary bleachers
should be put up on the track
surrounding the field.

Lea says there are ways that fans
would be able to go to the game, and
avoid walking under the stadium's brick
walls.

Recreation Association have decided to
sell the property.

A spokesperson for the group says
they can't afford to make necessary
repairs to the dam, which is NOT up to
code.

The group has stressed the new
owners must maintain the lake
community.

This week a state engineer and
the community's engineer will meet to
see if there are any *other* options.

The community was originally
cited for problems-- including trees
and grass near the dam, cleaning up
debris and fixing an emergency spillway
that doesn't meet minimum standards.

prices recently has left drivers
wondering how steep the bill will be
when they need to fill up.

But at least one store sold gas
at a dollar-99 this weekend.

Many customers say it's a matter

an overhaul and the Roanoke City and
Roanoke County may join forces to do it
together.
