child pornography charges, after the
alleged abuse of an 11 year old girl
led police to investigate.

Joseph Anthony Dapron (duh-PRONN) as a
suspect and executed a search warrant
at his Ridge Avenue home on April 11th.

That's where they reportedly
found large quantities of child
pornography, including photos featuring
three Lynchburg-area children.

Dapron now faces twenty counts
of possession of child porn ... more
charges may follow.

Big changes are coming to
Martinsville City Schools.

In this morning's Education Seven

report, new changes impact the youngest
students most.

File Tape Yesterday, the Martinsville city
school board voted unanimously to
reconfigure its elementary grade
levels.

That means, starting in the fall
of 2006, there will only be TWO
elementary schools, with grades
Kindergarten through five.

Right now, the three elementary
schools are broken up into grades
K-through-two and three-through five.

Officials say the new system
will give students more stability and
help cut transportation costs.

Today, a bone marrow drive will
be held for five-year-old Henry Moore
who suffers from a deadly disease
called kostmann's COST-mann's Syndrome.

Doctors say his only hope is a
marrow transplant.

The drive will take place today
from 7:30 until 4:30 at Carilion New
River Valley Medical Center in the
Fireside Conference Rooms.

The procedure, which usually cost
65-dollars, will only cost 25-dollars
because of a donation from the Hendrick
Motor Sports Racing team.

However, in some cases *THAT*
fee can be waived.

grade religion class, they were talking

known for its historic roses, but those
aren't ready to bloom for at least

another week.

Despite that, it was covered with
rose petals yesterday.

The Cemetery recreated an event
from 1941 where thousands of petals
were dropped from an airplane on
Memorial Day.

Yesterday, most of the six boxes
of petals drifted off in the breeze,
but dozens of people came out to enjoy

figure out what caused a brush fire on

Catawba Mountain.

put out the fire quickly.

The blaze damaged about four
acres of brush.

Officials say a hiker spotted the
fire around 3:30 yesterday afternoon
near Beckner Gap.

NO SUPER punishing Lynchburg delegate Preston
Bryant for supporting Governor Warner's
tax reform package last year.

The Republican party chairmen in
Lynchburg, Campbell County and Bedford

County have all endorsed Robert Garber
in his bid to unseat Bryant in the June
primary.

Garber is a former Lynchburg city
councilman who entered the race because
Bryant voted for the tax package.

improvements to Roanoke's Henry Street.

Education Center broke ground on an
expansion that will renovate the old
Ebony Club, and other buildings nearby.

The project will give the center
room to grow, including space for a new
culinary arts program.

to invest in the Henry Street area.
