there will only be TWO elementary
schools, with grades Kindergarten
through five.

The Martinsville city school
board unanimously voted to reconfigure
its elementary grade levels.

Officials say the new system will
give students more stability and help

schools are broken up into grades
K-through-two and three-through-five.

the same spot as the first sinkhole.

V-Dot says the two sinkholes are
related and yesterday's hole was about
35-feet-deep.

Route 670 was closed while crews
filled the hole. The road reopened
last night.

Officials say back to back
sinkholes of this size are unusual.

coin in the nation's history. The
almost perfectly pure gold coin will
debut next year - it won't be put into

Today, a bone marrow drive will
be held for five-year-old Henry Moore
who suffers from a deadly disease
called kostmann's COST-mann's Syndrome.

Doctors say his only hope is a
marrow transplant.

The drive will take place today
from 7:30 until 4:30 at Carilion New
River Valley Medical Center in the
Fireside Conference Rooms.

The procedure, which usually cost
65-dollars, will only cost 25-dollars
because of a donation from the Hendrick
Motor Sports Racing team.

The car, the girls and their act
have taken the Destination Imagination
competition by storm ... winning the
state championship in their category

last weekend.

RUN13 Team manager Mary Warner says when they
first got started, her only goal was
for the girls to come up with a design
for the car. She never dreamed they
could actually build it and then win a
regional and state competition. Now
Monelison is ready to make national
headlines.

In May, the girls will head to
Knoxville to compete in the global
competition ... they'll have eight
minutes to complete ten tasks and as
many laps as they can with the car.

They're confident, energized ...
and they've got something to prove.

V-DOT says the two holes are

related and yesterdays 35-feet-deep
hole was almost as big as last week's.

but reopened later in the evening.

Officials say back to back
sinkholes of such size are unusual.

ENG#1 The Martinsville School Board has voted

to reconfigure its elementary grade
levels.

It means that starting in the fall of
2006, there will only be TWO elementary
schools, with grades Kindergarten
through five.

ENG#2 U. S. Airways is reportedly in merger

talks.

Reports say the bankrupt company is in
advanced talks to link up with America
West, but no deal is imminent.

ENG#3 And Trinity Road in Botetourt County is

open once again this morning after
V-DOT crews worked to fix yet another
sinkhole.

The second one opened up two days ago
in almost the same spot as last week's
sinkhole.
