been contained.

This morning, a few puffs of smoke were
visible on Turkeycock Mountain near
Snow Creek... but rain overnight has
helped to extinguish the flames.
State forestry crews completed their
containment lines yesterday, and pulled
out around nine P-M. They continue to
monitor the situation, and plan spot
checks in the area today.

Elections has been shattered as the
insurgents in Iraq continue to up the
heat.

The most recent violence came today
when a car bomb blew up outside a
Shi'ite Mosque in Eastern Baghdad.
It happened during midday prayers.
There are several deaths and at least
a dozen wounded.

This was another in a series of
explosions outside both Shi'ite and
Sunni Mosques in Iraq over the past
year.
Tensions are strained since the
elections brought the once persecuted
Shi'ite majority to power--a position
once dominated by the Sunnis.

This spokesman for a Shi'ite Cleric
blamed the Coalition forces and the
Iraqi government for the deterioriating
security situation.

The Mosque attack comes after a
militant group claimed responsibility
for yesterday's shooting down of a
chartered helicopter carrying 11
civilians including six Americans.
10 people were killed in the crash--a
lone survivor was captured and
allegedly killed execution style.
A group calling itself the Islamic Army
posted a video on the internet
claiming to show the shooting...the
video's authenticity could not be
confirmed.

The helicopter attack.... was also
purportedly taped. This video
obtained by Al Jazeera shows a missile
being fired and striking the
helicopter-- again the authenticity has
not been confirmed.
This latest round of attacks continues
to push back important
announcements from Iraqs new

his role in the sniper killings that
terrorized the Virginia, Maryland and
Washington, DC area in October 2002.

The Virginia Supreme Court affirmed the
death penalty today.
A jury convicted Muhammad on two
counts of capital murder for the
shooting of Dean Harold Meyers near
Manassas. It was one of ten sniper
killings.
Muhammad's lawyers appealed saying
Muhammad could not be
sentenced to death under state law
because he was not the
triggerman in the shooting spree.
They also claimed that a new
anti-terrorism law used against
Muhammad is unconstitutional.

been arrested.

Anna Ayala (AH-jah-LA) was taken into
custody Thursday night at her home.
Police will release more details this
afternoon.
On March 22, Ayala told police she
found a well-manicured finger in her
chili while eating at a Wendys in San
Jose, California.
She originally said she was going to
sue, but later dropped the claim.
Ayala has a record making claims
against corporations, including her
former employer, General Motors.
An investigation by Wendys found that
no one from the company is missing any
fingers.

General plans to prosecute a Richmond
man for refusing to sell his home to a
black woman.
Nealie Pitts says in 2002 she asked
the selling price for Rufus Matthews's
home.
According to court documents,
Matthews told her his deed would only
allow him to sell to whites.
The A-G's office says that is illegal
because it violates fair housing laws.
Housing Opportunities Made Equal
President Connie Chamberlin says the
Supreme Court struck down those sorts
of racial restrictions nearly 60 years
ago.
But she says the laws remain in
deeds across the nation. She says it's
hard to tell how often they're used to
discriminate.
Pitts is also suing Matthew's for 100
thousand dollars.
