Tech's NFL Workout Two more Tech players have inked
:00 free agent deals and both are with the
Skins. Linebacker Mikal Baaqee, who
grew up in Columbia, Maryland and
played his high school ball at DeMatha
will get a shot to show his stuff on
the field after impressing scouts with
his workout at Tech last month.

Mike Daniels will also live out a
dream of trying to play for his home
team. The Fairfax native will try his
hand at making the team as a safety or
on special teams.

OQ=...news 7 sports < (END SOT) look a lot like the 2004 squad, with

Marques Hagans at QB and a group of
wide receivers that have a lot of raw
talent but will need to translate it
over onto the Football field, They
showed flashes of there brilliance

during the Spring Festival.

(Deyon:

Over on the defensive side of the ball
the secondary was an area of concern
last season and the Orange Crush will
be breaking a pair of new safeties this
upcoming season.)

(Tony Franklin:)

(Standup: With the loss of marquee
players like Heath Miller, Elton Brown,
and Darryl Blackstock from the 2004,
that leaves a void, that younger
players will need to step up and fill
both on and off the field.)

(Long: I think we need leadership.
That is a natural progression

When and Who steps into the leadership
roles will play a big part in how good
the 2005 Virginia Cavaliers can be.

The NCAA is concerned about
someone being offended by the use of
American Indian logos, mascots and
nicknames that some might consider
offensive.

One of the things that should
allow William & Mary to keep using the
Tribe is that NCAA wants to know the
history of the nickname as it relates
to the specific campus.
