sexually abused his three sons on
videotape.

VO-NAT 32 year old David Homer entered a

guilty plea in federal court to nine
counts and will serve life in prison.

The children were 7, 12 and 13.

after the family moved to Bassett.

hold a public meeting on the proposal,
which would expand Fincastle from
151-acres to more than 16-hundred.

Town officials say it would help
develop Fincastle as a business center

water release time at Philpott Dam.

of improvement across the state.

To make it easier to improve
services, the state wants to privatize

era -- he also documented rural life in
Southwest Virginia.

Soon a new exhibit will highlight
that part of his work.

Painters are putting the finishing
touches on the new Heritage Gallery at
the Link Museum.

Museum staff and volunteers are
cleaning artifacts that will sit on the
shelves.

The gallery will re-create Link's
1957 photograph of a general store near

furnishings and inventory.

The Breckenridge Elementary P-T-A
sponsored a school wide math challenge,
which quickly turned into a Hokie
Challenge.

Because the students won,
principal Mike Tetrault had to pay up.

And what better way to get back
at the huge U-V-A fan principal then a
visit from the Hokie Bird.

The mascot showed up with Hokie
apparel for the principal and led the
group in the Hokie Pokey.

classmate's life with a lesson she
learned in class.

Up until a few days ago Jaclyn Schafer

had peformed the Heimlich Maneuver only
on a manequin. Thursday she used it to
help Ernie, after he started chocking
on a piece of candy and couldn't
breath.

intruder opening the door to her second
floor room.

to save a man from a burning car.

Neighbors on Woodway Road in the
Mount Pleasant area heard an engine
running yesterday morning.

When they went outside they found
their 75 year old neighbor slumped over
the wheel of his car- his foot on the
gas pedal.

They broke the car window to get him
out just as the vehicle caught on fire.

Police say Howard Anderson Mayhew

had heart problems- and was dead by
the time neighbors got to him.

prompt witness to comforward with
information on a fire last month at
William Byrd High School.

March 22 Five thousand dollars will be given
to anyone with information that leads
to the arrest and conviction of a
suspect.

The fire started when someone
ignited a plastic toilet paper
dispenser in a girls' bathroom, causing
smoke damage.
