this one involving automobiles tied up
the afternoon commute in Roanoke.

the Valley View Boulevard exit.

State Police say a pickup truck
heading north hit one vehicle, then
crossed the median and hit three more
on the southbound side.

In all, five vehicles were involved.
Four people ended up in the hospital.

None of the injuries appear life
threatening.

State Police are investigating
whether the pickup driver from
Bridgewater had a medical condition
which may have led to the accident.

ended today in a federal courtroom.

Late this afternoon a jury found
the owner of a Bedford County trailer
park guilty on nine counts of violating
the Clean Water Act.

D-J Cooper discharged raw sewage and
other pollutants from the Hardy Road
Trailer Park into Sandy Creek, which
then flows into the Roanoke River and

grateful for help that's been pouring
in since a fire left them homeless last
week.

says an Army Sergeant should die for

Sergeant Hasan Akbar was today
sentenced to death for the 2003 murders
of two officers in a grenade and rifle
attack at an Army camp in Kuwait.

The jury deliberated seven hours
before arriving at their decision.

Akbar was convicted of two counts
of premeditated murder and

three counts of attempted murder.

He stood at attention as the
verdict was delivered, showing no
emotion.

Earlier today, he apologized for
the crimes.

His death sentence will be the
