has resulted in dozens of arrests and a
former Roanoke Council member is among
the suspects.

Swain was arrested last Thursday. He's
been charged with prostitution which is
a misdemeanor.
Reached by phone last night,
Swain told News Seven that -quote- it
was a misunderstanding. He referred
all further questions to his attorney
who could not be reached.
Swain served four years on
Roanoke City Council, but failed to win
re-election in 2000.

its deer management program.

January. Viacom is the parent company

Profits at Starbucks are percolating..
The coffee retail chain earned over a
hundred million dollasr in the second
quarter.. 27 precent better than the

a misdemeanor.
Reached by phone last night,
Swain told News Seven that -quote- it
was a misunderstanding. He referred

Swain served four years on
Roanoke City Council, but failed to win
re-election in 2000.

Roanoke County tree.

some women watched as this gray-cat was
trapped in the boughs of this tree for
five-days.

cat was rescued by a bucket truck.

cat's owner- and finally found her.

come your way:
Take "Solicits door to door" Most reputable companies are too busy
to solicit door to door.
Take "Offers you discounts for finding Be wary of discounts for reffered
other customers" business. You should be asking them
for references- not the other way
around.
Take "Just happens to have materials If they happen to have leftover
left over from a previous job" material- ask yourself who paid for it-
and why was it left over?

been convicted of a 16- year- old crime
in Roanoke County.

trial today, but late yesterday
afternoon he entered pleas of no
contest to breaking and entering with a
deadly weapon, and misdemeanor assault.
According to investigators, Castillo
broke into a home on Wood Haven Road in
August, 1988 and held a knife to the
throat of a ten year old girl.
The case wasn't solved until last year
when a national database found a match
for fingerprints collected at the crime
scene.
