missing Bedford County man.
Deputies say 87-year-old William
"Bill" Breckenridge Rucker left his
Moneta home yesterday morning.
He was supposed to pick up a
prescription at the Moneta pharmacy,
but never showed up and never returned
home.

Rucker has a number of health
problems and was wearing a brown cap,
navy blue shirt, tan coat and boots.

could change the way you renew your
driver's license.

Using Virginia as a model, the
House has passed a bill requiring all
states to strengthen their application
requirements.
Virginia upped its requirements
last year in an effort to keep
terrorists from getting state licenses,
but the federal law would affect all
Virginians.
It would require you to renew
your license in person and show two
proofs of identification.
You'd have to prove you're in the
U-S legally, prove you're a Virginia
resident and show proof of your Social
Security number.
Officials say, that means the
estimated 500- thousand Virginians who
normally renew their licenses online or
by mail will be showing up at D-M-V
offices in person.

both the Virginia Tech and the Salem
Roanoke Valley hall of fames.
He earned those honors by
becoming Tech's first baseball
all-American and for his decade as
player in the big leagues.

him back in the area this week.

commissioner John Swofford says the
league has been contacted by the Boston
Red Sox about holding a future A-C-C
baseball tournament at Fenway Park.
Boston College joins the A-C-C
later this year and Mike Dee, the chief
operating officer for the Red Sox says
GRAPHIC=ACC the A-C-C tournament is one way to keep
the stadium occupied.
Jacksonville is hosting the 2005
and 2006 tournaments, but Boston
certainly will be discussed at next
week's ACC meetings.
