becoming "behind" the counter drugs in
the fight against methamphetamine

abuse.

Major retailers have announced
new controls on products containing
pseudoephedrine (SOO-doh FED- drin),
which are often used to manufacture
meth.

New restrictions may be an
inconvenience for some customers, but
local authorities say they're a
positive step.

and other over the counter medicines
containing pseudoephedrine has
contributed to the explosive growth of
meth labs in southwest Virginia.

Botetourt Pharmacist Tim Lucas
limits the products on his shelves, and
says he is pleased that major retailers
like Wal-Mart and Target are moving

Poker games several times a week.

They were illegal because the

Robbers ransacked the family
home, taking televisions, a computer, a

burned a Campbell County boy was an
accident.

Wednesday on Gibson Road near
Altavista.

Authorities say 10-year-old Jakob
Lewis and another boy had been burning
debris in the yard when Lewis went to
put gasoline on the fire.

Investigators still want to talk

this was an accident.

Five months ago, the city completed
its traffic calming project in
Southeast Roanoke.

The city extended some curbs and
built islands in the middle of the road
in an effort to slow traffic down.

Some drivers say the traffic calming
measures have made it difficult to

drive because you're basically dodging
curbs.

The city says as long as people,
including truckers, drive the posted
