believe they're a positive step toward
controlling the local methamphetamine

in an illegal gambling operation.

along.
An accident in Rockbridge County has
blocked both northbound lanes of
Interstate 81.
State Police say a flat bed tractor
trailer hauling lumber has overturned
at mile marker 174 and a half. That's
near Natural Bridge. There are no
reports of any injuries. State Police
are not sure when the road will
re-open.

Only, now the State Bar has
initiated disciplinary proceedings
against Grimes for comments he made to
Judge B-A Davis.
"It's a lack of confidence,"
Grimes told Davis, "that Your Honor
would be willing to strictly follow the
rule of law...."
Grimes didn't want Davis to hear
the case Grimes was prosecuting,
preferring to try it before a jury.
Grimes later apologized, but the
State Bar says he retracted the
apology.

Kristina Hudson's home was broken
into Wednesday afternoon.
Robbers ransacked the house
taking a number of items including
televisions, a computer, a dvd player
and her dog, "Tiny."
"Tiny" is an American Pit Bull
terrier, who Hudson says is a gentle
and loving member of the family.
Hudson says she doesn't care
about the "stuff," she just wants Tiny
back.
The Bedford County Sheriff's
Office is investigating.

An accident in Rockbridge County has
blocked both northbound lanes of
Interstate 81.
State Police say a flat bed tractor
trailer hauling lumber has overturned
at mile marker 174 and a half. That's
near Natural Bridge. There are no
reports of any injuries. State Police
are not sure when the road will
re-open.

other over the counter medicines
containing pseudoephedrine has
contributed to the explosive growth of
meth labs in southwest Virginia.
But small pharmacies and large
retailers are taking steps to curb
their use for illegal purposes.
One pharmacist says he limits the
products on his shelves and major
retailers like Wal-Mart and Target have
moved some of the medications behind
the counter.

Southeast Roanoke appears to be
working.
Five months ago, the city extended some
curbs and built islands in the middle
of the road in an effort to slow
traffic down.
City traffic engineers say it's done
just that, but some motorists say the
new pattern makes it more difficult to
drive because you're basically dodging
curbs.
