Center has changed hands.

unarmed driver this morning.

Officers were responding to a
call about shots being fired in Compton

when they tried to pull over an S-U-V
that had been reported loitering.

Pittsylvania County jail- when they say

ran as the deputy opened the car door.

Grasty is from Danville.

tattooed on his shoulder- and a scar on
his face.

Grasty was wearing handcuffs when

in the stabbing deaths of two girls in

a Chicago suburb.

a weekend barge accident that spilled
up to 2-thousand gallons of diesel fuel
into the James River.

The barge had just picked up its
cargo south of Richmond yesterday when
it ran aground.

Initially, the Coast Guard said
the spill didn't appear too bad but the
vessel continued to leak throughout the
night.

Regardless, a Coast Guard
spokesman says the accident doesn't
appear to have adversely affected
wildlife in the area.

Much of the spill has been
contained.

The Coast Guard is now trying to
find two fishermen who may have
witnessed the incident.

has been around for 9 years and in the
beginning the goal was to raise enough

money to give a 1 thousand dollar
scholarship each year.

known the second largest scholarship in
the Valley. Over at Blue Hills the
course was closed to accommodate almost
50 teams who teed off in the event that

of this year's scholarship. He will
attend Virginia Tech in the fall and
major in Engineering. The winner of
the award is chosen by the Roanoke
