caused an apartment fire in Radford.

Crews were called out to the
Norwood Station Apartments on the east
end of town around 3:00.

The fire killed a dog and
destroyed a three bedroom apartment.

No one was injured and none of
the other rooms in were damaged.

Fire officials say a student at
New River Community College left the
apartment around 10 this morning to
take an exam.

The student believes he may have
left a cigarette burning.

Robert Wayne Grasty Junior was
being transported to the Pittsylvania
County jail last night, when he removed
his leg cuffs and ran as a deputy
opened the vehicle door.

Grasty is from Danville.

He is 32 years old- 5 foot eight
with the initials JK-C tattooed on his
shoulder- and a scar on his face.

the 13-year-old boy left the Woolwine
school about 2:30 this afternoon and
hasn't been seen.

children fighting for their lives after
two school bus wrecks this morning.

say a bus there crashed into two
vehicles stopped at a red light.

Two people in the cars were
killed.

More then 20-children were
injured.

A spokeswoman at a hospital in
Kansas City says at least two are in
critical condition.

She says there are "head
injuries" and "a lot of broken bones."

The bus was carrying
kindergartners through fifth-graders.

There's no word on the bus
driver's condition.

crossing an intersection.

2 men were killed when the car
was pushed into a cement wall just

Witnesses say the bus driver

Brownie.

Brownie is a member of the family.

Last week the dog was locked away

he got loose and started barking at a
neighbor.

in the NCAA division three tournament
despite stubbing its toe in the ODAC
championship game.
