searching for an escaped inmate this
morning.

It happened around 9:30 last
night in Chatham.

32 year old Robert Wayne Grasty,
Junior was arrested in Danville.

During transport to the Pittsylvania
County Jail, Grasty apparently took his
leg chains off.

When the deputy opened the door
to take Grasty inside, Grasty ran off.

the mess from a tractor trailer
accident early this morning.

The truck driver, George Davis
Deisher, DASHER Junior told state
police that his load shifted when he
was coming around the curve.

The truck, carrying 25 tons of
lime overturned and spilled.

Charges are pending against
Deisher.

release its list of bases to be closed
or consolidated.

It's expected to come out by the
end of this week.

A commission appointed by
Governor Warner has spent nearly two
million dollars building a case to the
Pentagon to preserve -- or even expand
the military presence in the state.

Virginia is second only to
California in *defense employment* and
military spending.

test yesterday, as they launched the
*balsa* wood gliders they worked on
throughout the semester.

Their professors say designing
the crafts and competing to take top
gliding honors, lays down the
fundamentals that these students will
need to succeed at Virginia Tech.

easier.

April Last month, we told you how the
men of *Pi Kappa Phi* were trying to
dispel stereotypes while helping
others.

Over the course of several days,
the brothers dug footings, poured
cement and then *built* a 47-foot ramp.

As you can see from these
pictures, the ramp *wraps* around the
home -- and is just what the ladies
ordered.

The brothers of Pi Kappa Phi used
more than 25-hundred dollars worth of
materials and built the ramp free of
charge.
