What President Bush believes is that to
have -- it's necessary to have a

strong, working, personal relationship
so they can speak candidly about

these thorny issues that we've been

discussing.

AMONG THE BIGGEST CONCERNS, PUTIN'S
BACKSLIDING FROM DEMOCRACY. BUT THE

RUSSIAN LEADER, WHO RECENTLY CALLED THE
COLLAPSE OF THE SOVIET UNION AT

These first-year engineering
students put what they learned to the
test yesterday, as they launched the

Their professors say designing
the crafts and competing to take top
gliding honors, lays down the
fundamentals that these students will

In addition to the gliders, the
teams must also design the launching
pad, which could be powered with
everything from rubber bands, to air
pressure.

Whoever wins this last round of
competition --will compete in Portland
