carrying lumber has overturned on
southbound Interstate 81 at mile marker
112.

That's north of Radford.

The left southbound lane is blocked.

Traffic is either slowed down or
stopped.

Drivers should avoid the area if

clean up the accident.

GRAPHIC=Shooting There's no word on the condition

of two shooting victims in Roanoke.

The first shooting happened
yesterday evening around 5- 15 in the
2400 block of Massachusetts Avenue.

Dispatchers say the victim was
shot in the leg by an acquaintance.

The suspect apparently followed
the victim to Roanoke Memorial Hospital
after the incident.

No word on any charges.

The second shooting happened on
the 500 block of Day Avenue a few
minutes after 10 P-M.

Police got several calls of shots
fired, and when officers showed up,
they found a man on the sidewalk with a
gunshot wound.

He was taken to Roanoke Memorial
Hospital as well. No word on his
condition.

Police are investigating.

controversial pay plan, as it approved
a new budget.

general pay raise, in order to fund
larger increases for public safety

But yesterday, council approved
changes that will give all employees a
three percent raise in January, and

facing several charges, including first
degree murder and obstruction of
justice.

May 2004 Police say Parris was the getaway
driver in a drug robbery and murder at
an apartment on Downey Street last
year.

Prosecutors say Parris threw the
murder weapon in the New River and lied
to police.

the N-R-V Jail.

Holten.

Police say they seized a "significant"
amount of computer equipment from the
businesses, that they believe is
connected to child pornography.
