escaped -- is now back behind bars.

VO-NAT U-S Marshals in Roanoke say they

got an anonymous tip yesterday morning,
that 23-year-old William Clyde
Karampour of Vinton was staying in a
room at the Jefferson Motor Lodge
hotel.

A website photographer took these
photos of Karampour's arrest.

Authorities say Karampour got
into a brief, but intense struggle with
deputies, but no one was hurt.

Karampour now faces federal
assault charges.

Franklin County authorities say
he had about two months left on his
sentence when he escaped April 23rd.

Bond for Greg Todd Akers is set
at three quarters of a million dollars.

The Floyd County man was the
subject of a month long search that
ended with his being shot by
Christiansburg and federal police.

He's charged with seven felonies
including drug, gun and abduction
charges.

The board of supervisors fired
Craig Teller after just a year on the
job.

It was a 3 to 1 vote with one
absention.

Supervisor Chairman Brian Spencer
was unable to attend the meeting.

He calls the vote a shock and
says it was likely about a personality
clash.

investigating a shooting last night that
sent one man to the hospital.

police arrived at James Crossing
apartments shortly after 11 last night.

The victim, 24 year old Darcell
Lamont Elliotte, suffered gunshot
wounds to BOTH legs.

in the higher education center. The
Roanoke City School Board made the
changes at its last meeting. But not

everyone is happy.

led to a large fishkill.

The truck was carrying lime
Sunday along route 635 when it ran off
the road and flipped over, killing the
driver.

Lime apparently spilled into
Stoney Creek and killed at least
5-thousand fish.

State crews finished the cleanup
yesterday.

Officials say there is no danger
