This Morning In February, federal authorities told
Hutcherson he was the target of an
investigation.
Authorities want to know how the
loan was spent since it was intended
for a non-profit group that never
received tax exempt status.
The councilmen arrived at the
federal courthouse this morning, and
the first of them was called to testify
within the past hour.
Mayor Hutcherson was summoned to
appear as well, but his attorney says
they are not present, his words, to do
a lot of talking.

that sent one man to the hospital.

apartments shortly after 11 last night.
The victim, 24 year old Darcell
Lamont Elliotte, suffered gunshot

looking for a man who hit a deputy with
his truck last night.
Investigators say the man sped
through a DUI checkpoint and his side
mirror slammed into the deputy.
It happened around 9:00 in the
Ironridge section of the county, just
outside Galax.
The deputy was taken to the
hospital and treated for bruises.
The suspect ditched the car and
ran into the woods.
Deputies searched all night with
tracking dogs.
Investigators say, once caught,
the man will be charged with the
attempted murder of a police officer.

The crash was captured by a video

Tuesday night, the board of
supervisors fired Craig Teller after
just a year on the job.
It was a 3 to 1 vote with one
absention.

Frank Gorshin has died after a battle
with lung cancer and emphysema.
Gorshin earned an Emmy nomination for
his role as The Riddler,and earned a
Tony nomination for his part in
Broadway's "Goodnight Gracie."
His final television performance can
be seen on tonight's episode of C-S-I.
Frank Gorshin was 71.

at Carmike 10 at Tanglewood Mall in
Roanoke. The theater had a midnight
showing in four theaters. Across town,
Valley View Grande had it showing in 10
theaters. All shows were sold out. More
than a thousand people came out to see
how Darth Vader goes over the dark
side.
