nine people.

Officials say seven children and two
adults died in the blaze.

Their ages ranged from four to
thiry-four.

Eleven people were in the house when
the blaze started early this morning.

At least one of the children was at the
house for a sleepover.

Fire investigators are focusing on the
house's first floor, which sustained
damage.

The second floor, where all the bodies

were found, was heavily damaged by
smoke and soot.

No information about the victims'
identities was available.

No one was in the house at the time.

Officials say the fire caused an
estimated eighty-five thousand dollars
in damage.

morning while driving his tractor
trailer on Route 220.

killing four people.

Island in Brooklyn, NY this afternoon.

Stunned sunbathers watched horrified as
the plane crashed onto the beach.

One person on the scene said that it
looked like the plane crashed
nose-first.

The crash occurred on a sunny spring
day at the world-famous beach, home of
the Cyclone rollercoaster and the
Astroland amusement park.

years for raping Fuallau when he was 12
and she was a 34.

Fuallau is now 22.

Letourneau's four children from
previous marriage attended the

driver and a group of teenagers in
Salem today learned why.

parking lot at Salem High School looks
fairly easy to negotiate, of course
that's in a NORMAL car.

Students today drove the course
in this modified Volkswagen Bug.

The car simulates a point seven
second loss of all motor skills,
similar to what a drunk driver would
experience on the road.

Students also wore a pair of
drunk goggles, that had them seeing
double as they negotiated their way
through the cones.

the chance to watch some police dogs in
action today.

Association hosted the Iron Dog
competition.

Forty-Two dog and handler teams
competed for bragging rights as they
ran through a three mile course, filled
with real life scenarios the officers
could see on the streets.

Finishing the course the dogs,
depending on their specialty, would
sniff out drugs, take down a suspect,
or find explosives.

The team with the fastest time
went home as Virginia's Iron Dog
Champion.

round two at the Roanoke Country Club.

youngsters from exotic locales. 13
year old Kimberly Kim is playing in the
girls 15 to 18 group after making the
trip all the way from Pahoa, on the Big
Island of Hawaii.

On the Boy's Side. Johnny Widmer had
to make quite a trek. The 15 year old
who brings his fishing pole in his golf
bag anywhere he travels, hails from
Grand Cayman.

woman race. Kimberly Donovan shot a 69
this afternoon including this nice

a par. Both players are optimistic

knocked off Miami of Ohio today to stay
alive in the NCAA regional in
Knoxville. With the 4-1 win the Hokies
advanced to play the College of
Charleston tonight for the second time
in as many days with the winner moving
on. the Cougars beat Tech 6 to 3 and
that ends the season for the Hokies.

ANCHOR=TRAVIS 16 and under Boy's State A-A-U

championship has taken over Roanoke
Catholic for the weekend. The
tournament started with 14 teams from
all over the state in a double
elimination format. Each squad had to
win their regional qualifer in order to
be eligible for the state title. The
winner, which will be crowned on
Sunday, receives an automatic bid to
the National tournament for a shot at
the national title and plenty more
exposure.
