solved another case of fraud.

Check Fraud is the most common
crime in the New River Valley.

This time, police arrested 27
year old Stephanie Lynn Crowder.

She's charged with four counts of
felony obtaining money on a false
pretense.

out of her home on Hemlock Drive for a
fake business in Salem called Coast to
Coast Credit Solutions.

Investigators say she cashed up
to 7-thousand dollars in checks at Blue

Police searched Crowder's home
Friday, taking a computer tower,
printer, disks and several fake checks.

letter" identifies events in which the
American Red Cross recalled "unsuitable
blood components" distributed between
April of 2003 and 2004.

The action's resulted in a fine
of nearly 160- thousand dollars.

The fines come from an agreement
between the Red Cross and F-D-A that
went into effect last summer.

The "Consent Decree" was set up
to ensure safety and tracking of blood
distributed by the Red Cross.

It also includes extensive
reporting and review requirements.

begins with the crowning of a champion
in the city of Champions.

This afternoon at the Moyer
Complex in Salem - the Division two
national softball championship ended
its five day run by producing an
undefeated Champion.

Lynn vs. Kennesaw State It was a beautiful day at the :00 Moyer where not even the temporary
fencing in the outfield could stop the
free swingers from Boca Raton against

Kennesaw State.

Clinging to a 2-to-1 lead in the
top of the sixth inning, Lynn put the
game away with back to back homer. The
first blast cleared the camera platform
in center. It was first baseman
Christina Rolla's 25th homerun of the
season - the second highest total in
division two history.

That made it 3-to-1, but before
the dust settled - Tiffani King - the
very next batter showed her stuff with
a shot to right field. That solo blast
turned out to be the game winner as it
made the score 4-to-1 and gave Lynn
University 88 homers for the season.

But you also need good pitching -
and ace Aimee Murch took care of
business with her 39th win of the
season. She was 4-and-0 in the
tournament and today she struck out 11

5 For the tourney she pitched four Kennesaw State complete games, struck out 47 batters 3 and earned most valuable player honors. NCAA D-2 Championship Florida's Lynn University wins the
title 5-to-3 over Georgia's Kennesaw
State.

National title. They can take some joy
in the title their Number 1 player
Lindsey Hagerman gained. Hagerman won
the Division 3 Singles Championship
with a 3 set win over the second seed.

Washington and Lee had 2 chances to
bring home the doubles title this
afternoon in Kalamazoo Michigan. They
had a team in both Semi-finals with one
of the teams featuring Hagerman. The
double dip wasn't going to happen for
Hagerman and her teammate Ginny Wortham
fell in 3 sets to a team from Gustavus
Adolphus.

The other W & L team of Emily
Applegate and Kristen McClung also lost
in the semi's to a team Gustavus
Adolphus. They lost in straight sets

6-2, 6-3.

defending champion on either the Men's
or Women's Side to ever lose in the
first round. She was the 5th seed in
the tournament and fell to 18 year old
Maria Sanchez Lorenzo by scores of 6-4,

Last Year Myskina became the first ever
Russian woman to win a Grand Slam
tournament.
