looking for the person responsible for
gunning down a teenager.

Last Night 16-year-old Demetrius Lamar Dubois
(DUE-BWAH) was shot and killed Tuesday
night during what police say was an
attempted robbery outside an apartment
complex on Yorktown Avenue.

Several witnesses have been
assisting police, but investigators
still need help tracking down the two
men they believe are responsible.

Anyone with information about the
crime should call the Lynchburg police
department.

sends a visual and audio warning.

The federal government wants
researchers at the Smart Road to
determine if the system increases

new regional jail in Roanoke County.


Supervisors this week voted six
to one to sign on to the Western
Virginia Regional Jail Authority.

English in a program that's growing
quickly.

In 2000, only 12 students in

Martinsville were in the program.

This year, that number's grown to

delays -- but students at the Roanoke
Academy for Math and Science are

finally in their new building.

their old school for one last time and
strolled down the street to their new
building.

The state of the art building
includes larger classrooms and more
space for special classes.

Originally, the school was supposed
to open in May 2004.

The school system may take legal
action against the contractor because

o'clock yesterday afternoon inside the
poolhouse at Willow River Apartments.

Authorities say a city building
inspector was about to reconnect the
electricity at the poolhouse, when he
found chlorine and sodium bicarbonate

Maverick Thomas.

The judge agreed to move the
trial. It will likely take place in
Roanoke in July.

contributions from Martinsville and
Henry County.

Clinic had just ten dollars in the
bank, before Martinsville offered five
thousand dollars, and Henry County
donated 25- thousand.


The latest contributions will
keep the doors open into the Fall, but
