For the second time this week, a
local high school is dealing with
tragedy on the road.

were injured in a crash just outside
Lynchburg.

Thursday afternoon, this driver's
ed car was headed east on Old Rustburg
Road while a van owned by the Sterling
Oil Company was headed west ... that's
when the van driver told state police
he swerved to avoid a dog in the road.

best to hit the brakes and steer the
car into a ditch but the driver's side
of the car caught the full brunt of the
crash.

The 16-year-old at the wheel was
flown to Roanoke where she's in
critical condition ... her teacher and
student passenger suffered minor
injuries.

State police were taking
measurements Friday, trying to pinpoint
the exact spot of the crash ... and who
may be to blame.

year-old Paul Stuchell for the
vandalism, but only after Stuchell
called them, and admitted to his crime.

Stuchell says his car was
vandalized just the other night, and
his family has been assaulted multiple
times in the last sixth months by
residents at the Hurt Park complex.

deputies is back in custody.

arrested Wednesday in Guilford County,
North Carolina.

He escaped from Pittsylvania
County deputies May Ninth.

Grasty was originally arrested
for failing to appear in court on child

Flowers was arrested this week and
charged with carrying a concealed
weapon.

Police say a student was walking
near a campus parking lot when Flower's
vehicle almost hit him.

Police say they found a pellet

today for a children's hospital wing at
Northeast Medical Center just outside
of Charlotte. The addition will be
named in his honor and the facility
will be more than 26-thousand square
feet in size and have a 24-bed

pediatric intensive care unit.

It is expected to open in
December 2006.
