Park apartment complex spent time
changing tires this morning

They say a man living in the back
section of the apartments apparently
slashed some of their car tires around
six this morning.

Residents say there was at least
one witness who saw the man committing
the crime.

Residents then called the police
who gathered evidence at the scene.

Police arrested Paul Stuchell and
have charged him with several counts of
destruction of private property.

Some residents said the Stuchell's
vehicle had been vandalized earlier and
they believe he was retaliating for
that incident.

However, many of those residents say
they had nothing to do with that
apparent vandalism.

reconstruct the car accident that has
left a Heritage High School student in
critical conditon.

State Police say the 16-year old
girl, a driving instructor and another
student were involved in the accident

near the intersection of Old Rustburg
and Camp Hideaway Roads in Campbell
County.

the wheel when a van struck her drivers
ed car shortly before four yesterday
afternoon.

Police say it appears the van
being driven by 37 year old Cecil
Dudley Silby was on the wrong side of
the road.

The student driver was taken to
Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

The teacher and the other student
suffered minor injuries.

Silby was not injured.

park say they've won a partial victory
in their battle with a landowner who's
forcing them to move off the property.

Last Week 54 families in the Margarene
trailer park were notified earlier this
month they would have to move their
trailers out by September 9th.

The park's owner offered each
family a thousand dollars towards
moving expenses if they all were out by
June 30th.

But residents objected, calling
the deadline impossible and the money
insufficient.

Today, they got a letter offering
them two thousand dollars in moving
costs with no conditions.

One homeowner called that a "fair"
settlement, and more than they had
hoped for.

him awake by using sirens, helicopters,
