conservative credentials and Garber
telling them that true Republicans
don't vote to raise your taxes.

rebounded in May after declining in
April, as worries about the economy and
jobs eased, that's according to a
private research group.

Airline stocks were the standout
performers...Shares of bankrupt United
Airlines rallied after the carrier
reached tentative contract agreements
with its machinists and mechanics
unions.. Averting a potentially
crippling strike. The new contracts
include substantial paycuts that are
expected to save United 700-million
dollars a year..and ultimately help the
carrier emerge from bankruptcy.

Northwest Airlines climbed 9 percent
after an analyst upgraded the stock to
a buy.. Saying bankruptcy for the
nation's appears unlikely.

And Ameritrade and TD Waterhouse could
announced as early as this week that
the two online trading companies will
merge.

Program, which will benefit the

Southwestern Virginia Second Harvest
Food Bank, and nine other food banks in
six states.

For eight dollars, Kroger
customers can now buy a box pre-packed

Cashiers will also accept smaller
contributions.

Normally, the food bank has
little control over donations, and
officials say the new Kroger program
will help them supplement their
inventory with a variety of nutritious

out of a tree.

"Little One" ...that's the cat's
name... had gone up the tree around
five Monday morning and wouldn't come
down.

Though Lisa Martin had been
recovering from a broken foot she
suffered in an earlier mishap, she got
back on firm ground just fine.

A fireman then made an attempt to
retrieve the cat, but "Little One" had
other ideas.

dollar exhibit hall is expected to
