:00 The Region 3 Girls finals in Singles
and Doubles were moved indoors to

Countryside because of the wet weather.

In the Singles final this morning,
it was Loy Campbell of Blacksburg
taking on Sarah King of Alleghany.
Both girls were vying for the only
state tournament berth available. In
tennis unlike the other Spring Sports
you have to win the regional in order
to advance.

And Campbell of Blacksburg took home
the title by winning in straight sets.

In Doubles, the team of Katie Sloan
and Betsy Richmond from Lord Botetourt
took on Maria Migliarese and Stephanie
Morrison of Hidden Valley. The Titans
Doubles tandem picked up a straight
sets victory 6-0, 6-2 over the
Cavaliers.

The State tournament for Singles is
on Thursday at Radford, with the
Doubles and team competition serving it
up on Friday.
