(YAHG-muhn) doesn't agree with a
federal appeals panel's, two-to-one
decision, striking down Virginia's law
banning late-term abortions.

by the Virginia General Assembly in
2003 is unconstitutional because it
lacks an exception to protect a woman's
health.

The Center for Reproductive
Rights challenged the law which bans a
procedure generally performed

Anti-abortion activists call it
"partial-birth abortion."

A lower court blocked

enforcement of the ban the day it went

aboard Air Force Two entered a guilty
plea to soliciting sex from a Bedford
County teenager.

(WALTZ-ee-ur) admitted he had an
18-month, on-line relationship with a
17-year-old girl before traveling to
Forest earlier this year to have sex
with her.

He was sentenced to time -served
for his conviction on solicitation of a
minor to commit non-forcible sodomy.

Walizer (WALTZ-ee-ur) still faces
ten months in jail for a similar
conviction in Ohio.

has been chosen to the head the
Virginia Department of Transportation.

Governor Mark Warner appointed Gregory
Whirley yesterday as the new interim
commissioner. Since 2000 Whirley has
served as the inspector general of
V-DOT.

He will succeed Philip Shucet who is
resigning effective July 1st.

with limited funds.

this Harley Davidson Motorcycle to
raise some of the funds.

They're selling 20 dollar raffle
tickets this weekend at the Dublin Flea
Market.

Coach Joe Gibbs has tried to get
Taylor to join the team in suburban
Washington.

Since being selected as a number
five pick in the 2004 draft, the former

Miami Hurricane has fired two agents,
been "fined" for skipping one day of
the N-F-L's mandatory rookie symposium,
been accused of spitting on a player
during a game in Cincinnati. He's also
been charged with drunken driving,
although those charges were eventually
dismissed.

get onto the family computer."

WE WANTED TO SEE JUST HOW MUCH, WE TOOK
A FRESH OUT OF THE BOX COMPUTER,

CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET AND THEN
VISITED SIX POPULAR KIDS SITES, IN A
HALF

HOUR. THE RESULT 22 SPYWARE PROGRAMS
ON OUR COMPUTER.

"Twenty two is a fair number of spyware
programs."

MOST ARE ATTACHED WHEN A USER AGREES TO
DOWNLOAD SOMETHING LIKE A GAME OR

SCREEN SAVER.

In talking to the distributors of
spyware they all emphatically deny
targeting

kids sites.

AND THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION SAYS
IT HAS NOT SEEN INSTANCES WHERE SPYWARE

IS DIRECTLY TARGETING TOWARDS CHILDREN.

"Spyware distributors are trying to get

people as they can and children and
perhaps children sites can be an
effective

means for them to do that."

chewable and meltaway versions of
Children's Tylenol off store shelves:

following drugs will be recalled:

80 mg strength Children's Tylenol
meltaways and soft chews

in both bottles and blister packs...

AND

160 mg strength Jr. Tylenol
Meltaways...in the blister packs.

confused because the blister
packs...those soft foil containers you
can peel open...contained two pills in
one compartment leading many to believe
that was the proper dose

GFX/ In fact, EACH tablet is a single
full dose.. so it was easy for parents
to accidentally double the dose.

Track: Tylenol...a brand name version
of the pain reliever acetaminophen...is
widely used without side effects...to
treat aches and pains and to reduce
fevers.

An overdose can cause liver
damage....but pediatricians say it
would take a huge amount of
acetominaphin over many days to do

million dollar project at the Civic
Center.

Branch and Associates broke

ground on phase two of the expansion
and renovation project this week.

The new 45 thousand square foot
exhibit hall will allow the civic
center to host more events, at the cost
of parking.

Work should be finished in two
years.

A construction boom in Rocky
Mount is responsible for hundreds of
new jobs.

There's a new Y-M-C-A, Jammin
Apparel warehouse, a nephrology clinic,
and construction hasn't been limited to
the business and technology park.

The town manager says at least
300 new jobs have come to town, and a
hundred new homes are being built.

The New River is becoming a major
tourist attraction for Giles County,
and one local company is taking
advantage.

Tangent Outfitters has been
taking people on fishing trips, guided
tours, and other outdoor related

activities since the 90's.

Now the company is building new
homebase on the way to the Cascades in
Pembroke. They're putting in a cafe,
gas station, canoe and bike rentals,
along with offering guided tours.

But the visitors are welcome all
over Giles County.

United Kingdom joined Governor Mark
Warner in Richmond yesterday.

The two parties signed a
memorandum agreeing to cross promote
events leading up to the 2007
celebration.

The agreement also includes trade
opportunities and educational links.
