She also had red stains of unknown

Police say the death is suspicious
because "several pieces of evidence at
the scene appear to be staged."
But five months later, there are
still no arrests.
So Dickerson's mother has placed this
ad in the Roanoke Times.

for the next few hours.

A tractor trailer crashed
there about 8:30 tonight.
Troopers say the rig was
coming off Interstate 81 at Exit 150
and couldn't stop. It ran over the
concrete median and overturned before
being hit by a pick-up truck.
The driver of the pick-up
was taken to a local hospital with
non-life threatening injuries.
The tractor trailer driver
was not injured.
State Police say clean up will
take several hours.

Former Baylor University
basketball player Carlton Dotson pled
guilty today to murdering a teammate.
Dotson, whose trial was scheduled
to begin Monday, did not enter into a
plea agreement with prosecutors.
Last fall, he was ruled
incompetent to stand trial and was sent
to a state mental hospital until
earlier this year.
Patrick Dennehy (DEN'-uh-hee) had
been missing about six weeks when his
body was found in a field a few miles
from campus.
The 23-year-old Dotson faces from
five years to life in prison.
Sentencing is set for June 15.

November Rose Martin and the county board
of supervisors repeatedly fought over
what Martin called a lack of funding.
Last night, the school board
agreed to let Martin out of her
contract early.
In a statement to teachers and
staff, Martin wrote: I believe in
educational integrity and the potential
that exists for students. However, I am
disappointed in the actions of the
appropriating body, the lack of
funding, and the blatant disrespect for
the education of children...
Martin will be released from her
contract August first.

County school system, Larry Wood is
retiring.
Along with teaching health and
gym for Glenvar Middle and High
Schools, Wood was an assistant baseball
coach.
He credits the school community
with bringing him back after a nearly
fatal fire.

rbi hits off of Jays' ace Roy Halladay
as Todd Hollandsworth comes in on

Cory Patterson later knocked in Mitre,

Salem with the Avalanche taking on the
Frederick Keys. After two nights of
consecutive game suspensions due to the
weather the Avs were anxious for a dry
night and the chance to extend their
five game winning streak.

top of the Avs 4-1 in the fifth inning,
but Salem is on the comeback trail.
The Avs will pick up two runs in

field chases home Mario Garza and Mike
Floyd closing the Keys lead to 4-to-3.
The Avs will score one more time
in the seventh inning with a solo
homerun from Drew Sutton. The blast to

again in direct conflict with the
Virginia High School League's Spring
Jubilee some students.
But for two Roanoke Valley
schools - the conflict between winning
a trophy and picking up one's diploma
has been resolved.
Friday, both Cave Spring and
William Byrd are set to graduate at the
Salem Civic Center,

National Series returns to Nashville.
