November Dr. Rose Martin and the county
board of supervisors repeatedly clashed
on the issue of money.

In November, she asked the board
for funds to pay the school's bills.

Last night, the school board
agreed to let Martin out of her
contract early.

In a statement obtained by News7,
she told teachers and staff: I believe
in educational integrity and the
potential that exists for students.
However, I am disappointed in the
actions of the appropriating body, the
lack of funding, and the blatant
disrespect for the education of

children...

Martin will officially be
released from her contract as of August

GRAPHIC=None Researchers in Germany say they

have made a major musical discovery.

ENG#=2 VO-NAT

VO-NAT They discovered a previously

unknown composition by Johann Sebastian
Bach.

The vocal piece was found among
papers removed from a historic library
during a devastating fire last
September.

The piece is a musical
accompaniment to a 12-verse poem
composed in 1713.

The music's survival was almost a
miracle.

The Anna Amelia Library burned
down in the fire.

A human chain formed by
passers-by saved hundreds of volumes,
including a 16th Century Martin Luther
bible.

The Bach piece was lying
unnoticed among papers and books in the
library's restoration workshop.
