the store.

underway.

cement siding for homes, is creating up
to 280 jobs.
Crews are leveling the land and

Another new company held its
grand opening Wednesday.
FreightCar America's began
manufacturing aluminum rail cars in
Roanoke a couple of months ago.
Employees, company officials and
guests watched a new aluminum rail car
roll off the assembly line.
They also got a tour of the
plant.
FreightCar America expects to
hire 400 employees over the next couple
of years.
They currently employ 188.

could send a New York man to prison for
life.

January 4 39-year-old Alberto Pagan held up
the Hundley, Wilkins and Bowles
Insurance Agency on January 4th.
After forcing employees into a back
room at gunpoint, Pagan stole checks
and cash and ran from the scene.
Police caught up with him about a
block away just moments later.
Pagan pled guilty to three
felonies, including giving a false name
to police.
He'll be sentenced in September.

compromise comes as a relief to both
sides.

The art museum plans to build a
new 46 million dollar facility near the
market in downtown Roanoke.
To make way for the project, the
museum wanted to tear down this century
old building on Salem Avenue.
But many preservationists and
some members of the city's
architectural review board opposed it,
forcing the museum to compromise.
