soldier who died in a Union hospital
with President Lincoln by his side....





How is this book different from
others about Confederate soldiers?

Instead of walking across the stage
with the rest of her Cave Spring
graduating class, Martin has chosen to
pass up the ceremony to join her
teammates in the state semifinal
contest against Dan River, where she
will be behind the plate as the Knights
starting catcher.

KENDAL MARTIN/KNIGHTS STARTING CATCHER:

Martin's father is an avid sports
fan who referees high school and
college football games, in addition to
coaching youth league softball. He
didn't try to influence his daughter's
decision, which he says has been made
for some time.

DEAN MARTIN/KENDALL'S FATHER:

TRAVIS WELLS: Kendall will get her

diploma this weekend in a much
different way than any of her 191
classmates, on the diamond at Radford.
And she wouldn't have it any other way.

relatives from as far away as Florida

As part of the Las Vegas centennial
celebration, 100 lucky couples tied the
knot last night.


The "Once upon 100 Weddings" event
took place under the canopy of the
Fremont Street Experience.

It featured 98 couples from outside
Las Vegas and two local couples.

Each couple's wedding package
included wedding nuptials, bachelor and
bachelorette parties, and a host of
wedding gifts-- all compliments of Sin
City.
