Life was set to take place at Victory
Stadium.

But when the structure was deemed
unsafe, organizers had to scramble.

Eventually, they found the Roanoke
Civic Center.

Roanoke's Relay for Life has been
going strong now for fifteen years.

This year, the event saw its biggest
change yet, the move from Victory
Stadium to the Civic Center.

degree murder charges in connection
with the death of her aunt.

Wednesday night, medics in
Bedford found 77-year-old Minnie
Thompson on the floor of this house on
Peak Street.

She was pronounced dead at the
hospital a short while later ...

Personnel there notified
authorities they suspected she had been
abused.

Thompson and her 64-year-old
sister Nellie were being cared for by
their niece Dorothy Leonard.

Leonard is charged with murder,
two counts of elder abuse and two
counts of aggravated malicious
wounding.

a woman who claimed to have been
defrauded by a used car dealer in
Danville.

At issue was a Tiburon that had
been pieced together from two wrecked
vehicles- -the front half of the car
came from Maryland... the back end from

stolen any identities in Radford.

The University is investigating a
break-in at a main computer server.

The server contained names,
social security numbers and other
sensitive information about Radford
students, employees and past
applicants.

Officials say there is strong
evidence the hacker was looking for
disk space and a high speed network and
NOT personal information.

But, school officials are still
asking people to look over their
accounts, just in case.

The FBI is investigating.

Pompano Beach Air Park yesterday

statistics that the Roanoke Valley SPCA
and Animal Control offices are hoping
will convince cat owners to keep their
feline inside.

SPCA officials started their Safe
Cat Campaign this afternoon.

Organizers say there have been
two confirmed cases of rabies-infected
cats in the area and that they want to
make sure that number doesn't increase.

for 1 game and fined some cash for
screaming at each other. Donnelly and
Robinson are both appealing their

team that she may not have expected.
Christie Marrone who just wrapped up
her Freshman year in Blacksburg has
decided to leave the Program.

Marrone averaged 4 points per game
and 1 assist during her freshman
season. The Brooklyn, New York Native
will be playing basketball next season
it's just not known at this point where

toughest test in Golf. Phil Mickelson
would probably agree with that
statement after his day. Mickelson who

9. He is at plus 6, 8 shots off the
lead.

Tiger Woods played in the afternoon
and held his game together nicely on
Friday. Shooting a 1 over par score.

There is a 3 way tie for the lead
