Authorities say Dorothy Leonard
had spent the last eight years caring
for two elderly aunts in her home.

emergency medical personnel discovered
one of the women dead ... the other
seriously injured.

women had been abused for an extended
period of time prior to Wednesday
night.

Authorities responded to a 9-1-1
call at this home on Peaks Street where
64-year-old Dorothy Leonard told them
her aunt had fallen down.
77-year-old Minnie Thompson was
pronounced dead at a Bedford hospital a
short while later ... and medical
personnel there told police it appeared
she'd been abused.
Her 64-year-old sister Nellie
Thompson also has been hospitalized ...
she apparently had suffered multiple
bone fractures in the past.
Dorothy Leonard is charged with
second degree murder, two counts of
elder abuse and two counts of
aggravated malicious wounding.

two men who opened fire on a police
crusier this afternoon.
Around twelve-thirty, a
Martinsville Police Officer tried to
stop a silver Honda for speeding but
driver took off.
Police chased the car into Henry
County where one of the suspects fired
several shots at police.
No officers were injured but the
car got away.

Authorities are now searching for
the two men in the Sandy Level area of
Henry County and in Rockingham County,
North Carolina.

a woman who claimed she was defrauded
by a Danville used car dealer.

The issue was a two-part Tiburon.
The car had been pieced together from
two wrecked vehicles- -the front half
of the car came from Maryland... the

after a tractor trailer ran off the
road and flipped over a guardrail.

The truck turned onto its side,
but the driver was not injured.
State police have charged

stolen any identities in Radford.
The University is investigating a
break-in to a main computer server.
The server contained names,
social security numbers and other
sensitive information about Radford
students, employees and past

Officials say there is strong
evidence the hacker was looking for
disk space and a high speed network and

But, school officials are still
asking people to look over their
accounts, just in case.

Phil Mickelson who was rolling along
until the back 9 at Pinehurst number 2.
He proceeded to go on a bogey binge
which isn't good. That included a
double bogey on 18 that led to a 6 over
77 that leaves quite a ways back.
Tiger Woods played in the afternoon
and was a bit erratic but held it
together he put his Second shot on the
Par 5, but not enough Birdies to be the
leader he's at 1 over Par for the
tournament.
The leaders are Olin Brown who is
at 2 under and in the club-house and
the Defending champion Retief Goosen
who shot even par in the second round.
Only 4 golfers are under par for the
tournament.

coming up a week from this Friday on
June 24th at Hanging Rock.
Mike Stevens says while a number
of celebrities will be on hand for the
event - this year it's more about one
person who won't be there.

They will be without Blake Allen, the
Avs reliever was promoted to Double "A"
today. The team activated pitcher

they have made, will bode well for the
