state revenues rose 23 percent last
month.

John Bennet says, so far this
year, revenue collections are up more
than 15 percent, which is higher than
expected.

Most of the growth is due to
corporate income, individual

non-witholding taxes and real estate
taxes.

According to Bennett, last year's
one-point-four percent tax increase
provided a boost.

Although, the revenue would have
gone up 19 percent in May, even without
the tax increase.
