WOULD IT BE

really either the kitchen or the

those 2 places really have lots of
things that kids could harm themselves
with

Sanjay

LETS GO OVER TO THE STOVE

Misty

we suggest to put some kind of guard on
your stove//when you're cooking you use

the back burners and turn the handles

toward the back

Sanjay

NOW I'M GOING TO GO DOWN TO CHILD'S
LEVEL CAUSE IMMEDIATELY WHEN I'M DOWN
HERE

AND EVERYTHING IS EXCITING

Misty

my best suggestion is to get rid of all
the stuff that's underneath the cabinet

that could be dangerous to a child

S/ok so I'm cruising around the kitchen
still and as a child my attention is

immediately focused on this socket over
here...

Misty

they're not recommended by the time
children are 2 they can figure these
out

and then they can become choking
hazards

Sanjay

PLANTS ARE LOVELY BUT MAYBE NOT SUCH A
GOOD IDEA...

Misty

no because plants most of them are
poisonous//and if the plant isn't
poisonous

then the topsoil likely is

Sanjay

WELL STAIRS SEE LIKE AN OBVIOUS
CONCERN, KIDS CAN GO TUMBLING DOWN SO
HOW DO

YOU PREVENT THAT FROM HAPPENING

Misty

we recommend for there to be gates at
the top and bottom of the stairs..//

that would - you just want to look for
any type of gate that actually screws
in

Misty

the other concern with stairs are the
banisters. these banisters if you can
fit

a coke can through then your child can
get thru

Sanjay

YOU'VE ALREADY TAUGHT ME THAT THIS IS
BAD (wraps cord around his neck) THIS
CAN

GO AROUND THE NECK

Misty

that and it can be choked on...

Sanjay

ONE OF THE ROOMS THAT THE CHILD'S GOING
TO SPEND A LOT OF TIME IN IS THE

NURSEY... WHAT COMES TO YOUR MIND AS
YOU ENTER

Misty

bumper pads are not recommended

Sanjay

WHY IS THAT SEEMS LIKE THAT WOULD BE A
GOOD IDEA

Misty

at first it's a SIDS issue they could
actually suffocate on the bumper pads
and

then after they start to pull up then
they could step on it and use it to get

out of the crib

Sanjay

OH DO A LITTLE HOUDINI...

dissolve

Misty

this whole area is a NO NO (points to
the change table) we have lots of
things

that your child could poison themselves
with...there's medications, creams

(walks down stairs)

Sanjay

OK MISTY IS IT IMPORTANT TO BABYPROOF
EVERY ROOM IN THE HOUSE?

Misty

not necessary if there are rooms that
you don't go in very often, you can
just

shut the door and just put a lock on
there

Sanjay

WHAT WOULD BE MISTY'S GRADE ON THIS
HOUSE

Misty

i'd give it a C - she really didn't do
too much baby proofing before i came so

she's got a bit of work to do.
