Department has rolled out its new
Mobile Command Unit.

It's an R-V which can act as a
police station on wheels.
The Unit has been in the works
since 2003.
The department bought it from the
DMV and then remodeled it .
The vehicle now sports a
conference area, a communications area,
and a hostage negotiations area.
It also contains laptops, radios,
and a rotating camera mounted on the
roof.
The police department will use
the RV for work and community
functions.

Square are moving along on time.

The capitol building, which is
more than two- hundred- years- old, has
been under- wraps for months while
crews remove the building's stucco and
make repairs.
The south lawn has been dug out
to make way for a new underground
extension.
Once completed, the wing will
house a reception area, cafe and
exhibit room for visitors.
The wing's entrance will mimic
the front of the capitol.
Renovations to the Old State
Library, which was recently re- named
the Patrick Henry building, are
complete.
Improvements to the capitol,
Finance Building and capitol grounds
are set to be completed by December of
2006.

mother of a boy who accidentally shot
himself with obstruction of justice.

VO-NAT Four-year-old Marshaun Muse was
slightly hurt when he picked up a gun
earlier this month and accidentally
shot himself in the side of his head.

June 13 Police say the boy's mother, Marquita
Muse, lied to them about the incident
to protect her friend, who owned the
gun.
The friend has now been charged with
possession of a gun by a convicted
felon.
Police are NOT releasing his name.

murdered on their way to a Rainbow
Family Gathering in West Virginia, the
group is returning to Pocahontas
County.
Beginning Saturday, the group will meet
in the Cranberry Mountain Nature Center
