today in Radford.

VDOT plans to open the
newly-constructed northbound side of
the Memorial Bridge.

When it does, two lanes of traffic
should flow in each direction across
the bridge for the first time in almost
three years.

Drivers should also expect the signals
at Route 11 and Main Street in Radford
to be activated today.

The wife and daughter of a
firefighter who lost his life in the
ordeal- along with about sixty other
relatives and friends- gathered last
night to honor and remember him.

*CG file June 22, 1995 Carter Martin was helping motorists
stranded in heavy rain on Route 460,
when the dam gave way.

It sent a twelve-foot high wall of
water out of nowhere, taking the life
of forty-one year old Martin and a
Bedford County woman.

Friends say Martin had a wonderful
sense of humor, and they want everyone
to remember all the good he did for his
community.

brought to our attention by a viewer in
Dublin who tried to sell a ring on
e-bay. He became suspicious when a
buyer from Romania wanted to buy the
ring using a third party escrow
website. E-Bay recommends purchases
over $500 use an escrow but that
clients only use Escrow.com.
Fraudulent escrow sites appear legit
but are run by fake buyers or sellers.
Acording to CarBuyingTips.Com - a site
that trys to shut down these scammers-
here's how the ploy works:
Take "The scamming "sellers" have ads The scamming "sellers" have ads on on various auction sites for high various auction sites for high dollar dollar items at a greatly reduced items at a greatly reduced price- or price" they pose as a buyer wanting to buy the
jewlery or car that YOU want to sell.

Sir" form letter - it's all scripted.
He wants you to use a particular escrow
site saying, "he's used them many times
already."

the buyer and wait for payment." and wait for payment. Neither is going
to happen.

The scammer walks away with your stuff

vanish as well - only to appear later
under another label. Here are some
tips to avoid this scheme:

the domain name was registered only
weeks before, consider them to be
fraudulent.

VDOT plans to open the
newly-constructed northbound side of

firefighter who lost his life in the
ordeal- along with about sixty other

night to honor and remember him.

It sent a twelve-foot high wall of
water out of nowhere, taking the life
of forty-one year old Martin and a
Bedford County woman.

to remember all the good he did for his

in Iraq's capital.

VDOT today plans to open the
newly-constructed northbound side of
the Memorial Bridge in Radford.

When it does, two lanes of traffic will
flow in each direction.

Drivers should also expect the signals

who lost his life 10 years ago in the

Timber Lake dam collapse gathered last
night to honor and remember him.

Forrty one year old Carter Martin was
helping motorists stranded in heavy
rain on Route 460, when the dam gave
way.

The dam collapse claimed the life of
Martin and a Bedford County woman.
