the new United States Courthouse opened
its doors.

The large crowd included judges
and other dignitaries.

The project began in September of
2003.

Construction took about two

years.

The old school house, which is
now apart of the new courthouse, was
also renovated.

The 80-thousand square foot
building contains a number of
courtrooms and offices for the I-R-S,
F-B-I and Department of Labor.

The courthouse sits in the heart
of historic downtown Lynchburg.

pressure while some of their neighbors
are confused.

The Western Virginia Water
Authority has been working with the
Raleigh Court Civic League to improve
service to about 400 homes.

Before the change takes place
next month, the authority is
encouraging those homeowners to
consider installing a pressure valve to
protect their plumbing.

A local company recently sent
letters offering to do the work, but
mailed them to several hundred homes
that are NOT affected. Only those
residents who received letters directly
from the water authority should expect
a change in their service.

the cause of a three alarm fire early

No one was hurt.

Between 20 and 30 people in
several nearby buildings were
evacuated.

Officials say the building was

three boys missing in New Jersey were
found dead.

inside the trunk of a car.

The car was parked in a driveway
next to the yard where they had been
playing.

open the trunk of the car and collapse
to his knees screaming.

The boys had been the subject of
a massive search.

After the bodies were discovered,
hundreds of people gathered in the
neighborhood, many in tears.
