investing a motorcycle accident that
sent two people to the hopital.

It happened around 7:30 last
night on Mount Tabor Road in
Blacksburg.

Authorities say a man and a woman
were traveling toward Roanoke County
when their motorcycle hit a deer.

The woman was tranported to
Montgomery Regional with non-life
threatening injuries.

The man was transported to
Roanoke Memorial by Lifeguard 10.

they've found the water main break that
forced them to relocate families and
condemn homes on the Salem Turnpike.

pipe that's nearly 50-years old is to
blame.

The break flooded two nearby
homes and four bottom apartments in the
Salem View Apartment Complex.

A federal magistrate is expected
next week to handle dozens of
complaints against the group.

Officials will temporarily hold
court at the Cranberry Mountain Nature
Center Tuesday -- where the
counterculture group's annual gathering
is being held.

Officials say about 145
complaints have been filed in
connection with the gathering -- as of
Friday afternoon.

They say most of the complaints
are misdemeanors involving campers not
having proper permits.

The gathering ends July Seventh.

six-story Wintergreen condos.

Commission approved the site plan in
May.

But, some residents are

circulating a petition to persuade the
developer to build *low-rise condos* to
preserve a ridgeline they say is
visible from counties and states far
away.

Construction for the 47 condos is
expected to start in spring 2006.

Some planning commissioners
objected to the

height of the condos -- but say they
have NO legal basis to deny it.

A year ago this week, the High
Street Baptist Church voted to let

building on Melrose Avenue.
