attempting to stop the car for an
equipment violation, in this case
excessive tinting on the windows.
Initially, they thought the car was
going to pull over in the northbound
lanes of the expressway. Instead it
took the wonju exit, turned right on
Colonial, ran a red light and collided
with another passenger car.

heard the sirens and looked up to see
the cars collide on Colonial Avenue.
One person jumped from the cadillac
police were chasing and ran, but was
quickly apprehended.
The driver of the other car, a
woman, was transported to the
hospital... and at least one of the
three suspects received medical
treatment after he complained of back
pain.
Police searched the vehicle and
say they turned up a significant amount
of illegal drugs.

GRAPHIC=Shooting A Danville woman was shot
inside her home this afternoon.
The 30-year old told police
she was standing inside her house on
Motley Street just before 3 o-clock
when she heard a pop.
She felt a sting in her left
leg and realized she'd been shot. The
woman was taken to Danville Regional
Medical Center for what are described
as non-life threatening injuries.

their Grayson County home last March
died of a drug overdose.
A neighbor found the bodies at
240 Grayson Street in Fries.
Deputies say 58 year old Roger
Shinault and his 22 year old son,
Darren, were inside the home with no
visible signs of harm.
A toxicology report showed the
two died from an overdose of methadone.

identified yesterday's drowning victim.

Sheriff Jim Davis says 42 year
old Roger Dale Scarberry was fishing on
the New River near Parrot with his 14
year old nephew when they both fell in
the water.
The 14 year old managed to pull
himself to safety, while Scarberry

The seventeen troops were members of
a special operations unit.

Newport News this morning.

death of a Lynchburg man while he was

sheriff's deputies two weeks ago.

tonight before the start of his game
with the Angels.

according to witnesses - kick the
camera.
The incident occurred as
Rogers walked out of the dugout onto
the field before a game and another
camera crew caught the aftermath of the
incident and Rogers was eventually
escorted off Ameriquest Field by
catcher Rod Barajas after yelling at
several other media members.
Rogers missed a start today
because of a broken hand bone he
hurt when he hit some coolers in the
dugout last week out of frustration.

all stroke handicaps, but Dottie Webb
is taking the handicap thing to the
extreme this year.

City-County tournament with a stress
fracture in her right leg. She is
wearing a protective walking boot but
still playing golf. Webb actually hurt
her leg while playing golf by stepped
in a hole on the course. After sitting
out for 10 days she went back to
playing golf with her doctor's
permission.
And she says this injury - is
nothing.

with phone calls trying to consolidate
student loans before interest rates
rise.

president of Russia walked off with a
Super Bowl ring belonging to the owner
of the New England Patriots.
Robert Kraft apparently showed
the diamond-encrusted ring to Vladimir
Putin after a meeting with American
business executives near St. Petersburg
Saturday.
Russian news reports say Putin
tried the 15-thousand dollar ring on,
put it in his pocket and left.
It wasn't clear if the ring was a
gift, as the Kremlin claims.
A Patriot's spokesperson says
Kraft is travelling and is unreachable
for comment.
