A worker noticed the body lying
in the culvert and called police.
There were no obvious signs of

Department released lab results from
the case stating no marijuana was found

black Cadillac struck a car driven by
61-year-old Jane Crouch of Vinton.
Crouch was transported to Roanoke
Memorial and has since been released.
Police say 30 year-old Carlos

the Cadillac and had two passengers.
27 year-old James Cornelius
Bobbitt, of Montgomery County and 22
year old Keith Leonard Sneed, from
North Carolina.
Police say all three suspects
inside the Cadillac have been charged
with intent to distribute cocaine.

linked to an armed holdup in Lynchburg.
41-year-old Frank Eugene Solesbee
of Jarrett was arrested Tuesday in
Chesapeake after allegedly robbing a
wedding apparel store.

County Golf Tournament appeared to be a
2-woman race heading into play at
Roanoke Country Club this morning. Meg
Davies held a 1 stroke lead over 13
time champion Dot Bolling

Roanoke Country Club Davies started off a little slow on
a gorgeous day for golf out at R-C-C.
But picked it up on the back 9.
She birdie? number 10 and then on
the 12th, from long range dropped in
this birdie putt on the Par 3 to
extend her lead.
Playing alongside Dot and Meg was
Vickie Kasza, who would shoot the low
round of the day a 69 that included an
eagle on the Par 5 17th Hole. She
finished in third place.
Dot Bolling came in second to
Davies after shooting a 75, her highest
score of the 3 day tournament.
In the end Davies was able to bogey
18 on her way to shooting 71 and
winning the City County title with a
record setting score for the 3 days.

Sharapova and her gold shoes were
bounced in straight sets by Venus
Williams. The first set was decided in
a tie-breaker and Williams proceeded to
destroy Sharapova in the second set
winning 6-1. Venus is a 2-time
Wimbledon champion and a 2-time
runner-up, but hasn't won a grand slam
in almost 4 years.
The other semi-final between top
seed Lindsay Davenport and Amelia
Mauresmo was delayed until tomorrow due
to rain. The match was tied at 1 set
a piece with Davenport leading the 3rd
set 5 to 3.
