standoff between police and protestors

So far there are no reports of any

to Justice" called for by Live- 8
organizer Bob Geldof have arrived in
Scotland to continue efforts to fight

members of a U- S military team still
missing in Afghanistan, there's word
that one may have been wounded, and
found shelter in a civilian's house.

While U-S officials aren't
confirming that, they say ANOTHER
member of the team was rescued over the
weekend.

last Tuesday.

Few details of what went wrong are
public, but according to US officials,
the rescued Seal is in good enough
health to provide a picture of what
happened.

launched last week to find the missing
seals led to another tragedy; the crash
of a US Special Forces Chinook
helicopter, and the loss of sixteen
lives. The helicopter appeared to have
been shot down...



(US search operation) Afghanistan's
defense minister has confirmed there
has been a sharp upsurge in fighting,
with insurgents, foreign fighters
linked to Al Qaeda, and Taliban
regrouping, with better and more
effective weapons. The US has lost 45
service members in the past three
months.

(NATS) US teams are going through
villages, hunting for insurgents, and
warning elders to cease co-operation
with the Taliban.

Coast Guard captured a rare event on
video.

Officials say they believe an
underwater volcanic eruption caused a
33- hundred-foot column of steam to
rise from the ocean floor.

But Japan's Meteorological Agency
said there was no danger of tsunamis,
which are sometimes caused seismic
activity.

The Coast Guard crew also found
greyish mud rising up from the bottom
of the ocean, but it was not
immediately known whether any volcanic
gases were being released.
