seasons has decided to step down at
Cave Spring effective immediately.
The two time-Friday Football
Extra coach of the year is getting out
of coaching for the time being - and
moving into the pharmaceutical
business.

time together in the coming weeks.

This afternoon the Gamecocks
admitted to ten N-C-A-A violations that
were committed under former football
coach Lou Holtz. Five of the violations
are classified as major. The report
was prepared jointly by the N-C-A-A
enforcement staff and the university
and has been forwarded to the N-C-A-A's
Committee on Infractions. Probation
and a loss of scholarships are not only
possible, but likely.

continues to have problems in the
off-season.
This time it is an injury that has hit
the Seminoles.

VO-NAT Cornerback Antonio Cromartie will
miss the entire 2005 season after he
tore a ligament in his left knee. The
injury occurred during voluntary
workouts down in Tallahassee.
Cromartie will have surgery next week.
Last season he had 4 interceptions and
scored 2 defensive touchdowns.

dispute is over.

:00 The N-H-L and their Players Union
have reached a tentative agreement
after meeting for the last 24 hours.
Both sides still need to ratify
the agreement which is expected to come
next week. The deal does contains a
salary cap which was a big sticking
point in the past for the players. The
N-H-L has the distinction of being the
first and only North American Sports
League to lose an entire year because
of a labor dispute.

Art lovers are all smiles.

Another masterpiece was unveiled at
the Art Museum of Western Virginia.

Children and museum officials
revealed the newest painting called On
the Tow-Path-- A Halt, by Theodore
Robinson.
It features two horses with a boy
standing on a canal in Delaware.
This is the latest in a series of
paintings donated to the Art Museum by
the Horace G. Fralin Charitable Trust.
The art museum says the painting
will play a key roll in its educational
programs.
