supervisors signed off on a permit for
Western Virginia's first wind farm.

to build about 20 wind turbines along
ridges in the western part of the
county.

hospital, but his family says

71-year-old minister is in good shape.

near-fatal respiratory arrest.

dollar diamond from Ginger's Jewelry in

Yesterday afternoon the man

gem and took off , hopping into a
waiting SUV.
The suspect is described as a
white male, about five-feet ten-inches

write an official resignation.
Late last year Samper offered
former agency director Forrest Matthews
a severance deal worth more than 260-

standard under state law.
Samper says he's "disgusted" by

Virginia woman as authorities find more
dead cats in her townhome.

Eighty-two-year old Ruth Knueven
was arrested earlier this week after
authorities removed more than 270 cats,
both alive and dead from one of her
homes in Mount Vernon.
Today, animal control officials
discovered nearly 200 more cats, most
of them dead at a townhouse in Burke.
All of the live cats recovered from
the Burke home had to be euthanized
because of illness.

Animal control officials in
Massachusetts also stayed busy today
capturing a four foot alligator from a
lake near Brockton and searching for
another gator.
Witnesses say they spotted the two
alligators at the park on Wednesday
evening.
Authorities believe the gators were
probably privately owned and dumped
into the pond because their daily care
got to be too difficult.
It's illegal to possess alligators
in Massachusetts without the proper
permits.

handstands.
The display was more than an
attempt to set a record.
It also promoted the U-S
gymnastics championships in
Indianapolis next month.
Olympic gymnasts Blaine Wilson

Karolyi were even on hand.
As of right now, there is no
world record for the greatest number of
handstands performed at one time.
