a half long investigation by Virginia
State Police into the May 3rd shooting
of Greg Todd Akers.

May 3 Federal agent shot Akers twice outside
a restaurant in Christiansburg after he
tried to run over a Christiansburg
Police officer with his car.
Akers was shot in the arm and
leg.
Montgomery County's
Commonwealth's Attorney Joey Showalter
reviewed the evidence ,and decided that
all departments were justified in using
deadly force.
Akers is awaiting trial on
robbery, abduction as well as federal
drug and firearms charges.

person who may have been involved in an
early- morning shooting in Roanoke.
Two men were taken to Roanoke
Memorial Hospital around two this
morning with gunshot wounds.
Police say 28-year-old Fortino
Guzman died a short time later.
28-year-old Ovidio Arturo
Mendoza was hurt though his injuries
are not life threatening.
Neighbors in the 600 block of
Murray Avenue say they heard multiple
shots fired, but no one actually saw
the shooting.
Police have not suggested a
motive.
