people arrested in recent months in a
city-wide effort to crack down on
prositution.
This afternoon Swain was found
guilty.

fine and was given a 30-day suspended
jail sentence.
The charge stems from an encounter
on April 21st at the corner of 12th
Street and Campbell Avenue Southwest.
An female undercover officer
testified that Swain asked for a sex
act- and that the two discussed money.
Swain took the stand as well-
saying he thought the woman gestured
for him to pull over in his car.
He says the woman told him she was
robbed- and while he admitted they
discussed sex- he said he was reaching
for his wallet to give her money so she
could buy a sandwich.

non-profit Danville Regional Medical

Danville Regional Foundation were

They include six Danville

news that one of the best receivers of
all-time in the NFL has decided to call
it quits.
Tim Brown - signed a one-day
contract with Oakland today so he could
retire as a Raider. He leaves the NFL
second all-time in receiving yards and
third all-time in receptions. The
nine-time pro bowler spent 16 years
with the Raiders - catching 100
touchdowns.

Texas Rangers pitcher Kenny
Rogers
turned himself in to authorities today
after he was charged with
misdemeanor assault for allegedly
shoving two television cameramen.
Rogers was released on 15-hundred
dollars bond. The lefty also is
appealing a 20-game suspension and a
50-thousand dollar fine for
last month's incident that was handed
down by commisioner Bud Selig.

part miniseries will be filmed around
colonial Williamsburg and the College
of William and Mary.
The show's being produced for
H-B-O by a production company owned, in
part, by actor Tom Hanks.
Many films and mini- series have
been filmed in Virginia, but this
production will be a first for the
Commonwealth.
