shot and killed in her Martinsville
clothing store, her husband is on trial
accused of capital murder.

a deadly Grayson County shooting.

dead in his Flat Ridge area home last
night.
Deputies say he was shot by his
wife, Patricia Gravely.
The sheriff says she may have
acted in self-defense.

back on the beach, waving adios to
Hurricane Emily.

The eye of the storm hit just
before dawn, about 85-miles south of
the Texas-Mexico border.
Despite strong warnings, Emily
was more of a nuisance - her 125
mile-an-hour winds and driving rain
caused no significant damage.. except
for the usual downed trees and power
outtages.
There are reports of some
flooding - thanks not only to several
inches of rain but storm surges of up
to 10-feet.
Nearly 5-thousand Texans spent
last night in shelters.

Darryl Tapp continues to get some
serious preseason recognition. The
Chesapeake native who is already a
candidate for the Nagurski Award, was
added to the watch list for the Ted
Hendricks award today. It goes to the
nation's top defensive end.
Tapp appeared in all 13 games
last season for the Hokies, recording
60 tackles, including 8 and a half
sacks.

announced tonight that Troy Aikman,
Michael Irvin and Emmitt Smith - the
men who led the Boys to three Super

franchise's ultimate honor on Sept. 19

national tournaments.

the Angels softball division hooked up
with a trip to Alabama on the line.

past six days.

Cave Spring Nationals vs. Fort Hunt Today's championship game pitted

against the Fort Hunt - a team out of
Alexandria.
Cave Spring would take control in

to center field, it snagged at the top

France.

Ten *mechanical* jockeys recently
took to the track in Abu Dhabi.
Earlier this month, the president
of the United Arab Emirates banned the
use of camel jockeys under the age of
18.
So, the industry turned to remote
controlled jockeys complete with
colors, hard hat and whip.
The jockey's are clipped to the
animal's back and controlled by
handlers driving alongside.

probably the biggest catch of their
lives this past weekend.

The group hauled in this 11-hundred
pound tiger shark as part of the
Monster Shark Derby in Martha's
Vineyard.
They failed to capture first place
though, because the boat was six
minutes late returning to harbor.
Although the shark didn't win the
competition, it did win the admiration
of the other fishermen.
