voted unanimously last night to fire

the County Administrator and her
assistant.

Vice Chairman Sam Wilhelm
told News Seven the board went into
closed session to discuss the duo's
performance.

Last night, members then
voted 5 to nothing to fire Tammy
Stephenson and Rick Hall.

Wilhelm said their
performance has been a long running
issue and that it was in the county's
best interest to relieve them
immediately.

Supervisors will meet this
afternoon to discuss the situation
further.

GRAPHIC=Fatal Shooting A domestic situation in Grayson County


ends in a fatal shooting.


The sheriff says officers were called
to the home on Rockbridge Road at 7:19
last night.

When they arrived, they found that
Patricia Gravley had shot and killed
her husband, Joseph Gravley Junior.

There were children asleep in the house
at the time of the shooting. They were
not hurt.

Officers took them next door to
their grandmother's house. Grayson
County authorities are still
investigating, and say they're not sure
at this point whether charges will be
filed.

GRAPHIC=Fire Fire broke out inside a Danville


hotel room this morning.

Firefighters responded to the
Super 8 Hotel around three A-M and
found smoke coming from one of the
third floor rooms. Two sprinklers had
already activated, keeping the blaze
contained to one room.

Damage to the building was minor,
but all three floors have water damage.

The occupant of the room was
reportedly taken to the hospital for
smoke inhalation.


Authorities say that the fire was
started by discarded smoking material.
